Have you ever considered the trait of “Punctuality” to be an excellent communicator ? Often linked with traits like discipline, commitment, professionalism, and reliability, punctuality communicates a great deal on your behalf, without you even having to say a word.
Punctuality communicates respect and it says it out loud.
I once had an appointment at a corporate office and arrived ten minutes early, expecting the meeting to start on time. Instead, I had to wait much longer than expected, and my impression of the person diminished. A simple courtesy call or apology could have kept things positive, but the delay sent a different message.
On another occasion, an official met me on time, and my respect for him was immediate. His punctuality showed that he valued my time, and that left a strong first impression.
In any setting, punctuality helps build rapport and signals that you respect the other person’s time. When you show respect, you’re more likely to receive it in return.
