Recently, I had the privilege of addressing the dynamic new batch of MBA students at the Army Institute of Management, Kolkata. The topic of our interaction was Leadership and Teamwork—two pillars not just of professional success, but of meaningful growth in every walk of life.
What made the session truly rewarding was the active participation of the students. Right from the outset, they were engaged, curious, and eager to explore what leadership means in today’s complex and evolving landscape.
Through real-world stories, reflective questions, and candid conversations, we explored:
- What does authentic leadership look like?
- How do we build trust within teams?
- Can discipline and empathy go hand-in-hand?
- What role does failure play in shaping resilient leaders?
The students didn’t just listen—they led the conversation. Their insights were sharp, reflective, and deeply thought-provoking. Many spoke about their own experiences with group work, leadership dilemmas, and how they navigated differences within teams. It was refreshing to see the clarity and maturity in their perspectives.
As I left the session, I felt hopeful. If these bright, motivated young minds are the future of Indian business and leadership, then we’re on a promising path.
